Is it bad to eat ice cream 3 nights before a 5k race?

I had a strwaberry milkshake(not a big one) today and I have a race on tuesday, will this effect my race?

Also, I eat lunch at noon and my race is at 4:30 whats a good lunh to eat?Is it bad to eat ice cream 3 nights before a 5k race?
NO, the reason runners try to avoid dairy before a race is because it takes a while to digest, apart from that, any active person especially a runner, can eat as much as they want (within reason) without gaining weight. It isn't like that fat goes straight into your body.Is it bad to eat ice cream 3 nights before a 5k race?
I eat ice cream all the time before races. i honestly don't think it matters much, at all. Unless your like an olympian Report Abuse

although it's not good to have the milkshake in general, i don't think it's going to hinder you during your race if it's 3 days later. just make sure that you eat healthy during your training and during the season. after your season ends, then you can enjoy these foods as much as you want (though i wouldn't recommend too much junk food).

for your lunch, i would suggest you have a small sandwich (maybe low-fat peanut butter on it). not too much because you don't want to be full or digesting food during your race, but enough so that you aren't starving during your race. also, remember to drink a lot of water in the morning and early afternoon to stay hydrated and prevent cramps. if you drink before your race, you might throw up, so make sure that you do it a while beforehand. You will know you are hydrated when your urine is clear, not yellow. I also suggest you carbo-load the night before. Have some pasta, bread, etc. doing this the night before will give you more energy for your race the next day. Good luck!
3 nights before? No effect unless it adds a few ounces of weight.

One the night before? Might help. You want a lot of available energy that next day.

Same with lunch. Heavy on the 'carbs' for available energy,

but light in nature, and easy to digest, so your circulatory system is

available for running, not still trying to digest lunch.
No it won't make a differenc you had milkshake.

Breakfast have Weetabix (Wheat Biscuits) with fruit and milk. With a glass of Orange Juide.

Lunch have a light Pasta which is mildly filling and a glass of water with a pinch of salt and sugar. Although really that's a good remedy for a marathon unless the race you're talking about is a long distance running race.

If it is not long distance, feel free to eat burgers and chips a few hours before.

Peace
No it won't effect your race, you could drink it the same day and it wouldn't have a negative effect.

Most anything you you eat at noon will be digested by 4:30. Just don't over eat and don't anything really heavy.
no, it'll be long gone by the time you have a race. I wouldn't make a habit out of it, but trust me, it will have no effect unless you are allergic and end up in the hospital. Is that what you meant? If it kills you, the race will be a problem...

Best of luck!
of course its not bad. For lunch eat it at 1 pm and eat pb and j and a banana with water. maybe dry cereal too. Then do your warmup a little early and go to the bathroom and take care of your buisness
as long as you are hydrated you will be fine... have some good carbs the day before...

I usually have a lite lunch b4 the race
Probably
yes.

it'll probably slow you down by like 2-3 minutes.
well it will probably efect your race but when you eat lunch make sure it is not junk food eat like a sandwitch
you will be fine. it will prolly be gone by then
doesnt really matter now you already ate it
well it depends if you can burn it off no if u dont and u hav too much probaley then yes
